Supernatural Birth

Exodus 1:15-21

15 The king of Egypt said to the Hebrew midwives, whose names were Shiphrah and Puah, 16 "When you help the Hebrew women in childbirth and observe them on the delivery stool, if it is a boy, kill him; but if it is a girl, let her live." 17 The midwives, however, feared God and did not do what the king of Egypt had told them to do; they let the boys live. 18 Then the king of Egypt summoned the midwives and asked them, "Why have you done this? Why have you let the boys live?"

19 The midwives answered Pharaoh, "Hebrew women are not like Egyptian women; they are vigorous and give birth before the midwives arrive."

20 So God was kind to the midwives and the people increased and became even more numerous. 21 And because the midwives feared God, he gave them families of their own.

Hudd's birth was a powerful display of God's supernatural and tangible nature. He is good. so good.

Labor began on Sept. the 26th during the day. The contractions were very bearable through out the day. Jeff's sisters and mom were here. When the pain was getting more intense, Jeff and I went upstairs into the bedroom. We turned on worship music and prayed over this birth as I had contractions. We couldn't decide when to go to the hospital so Jeff asked the Lord to show us two of the same things as confirmation to go. Jeff said "Im going to time your contractions three more times and we will make a decision" My contractions were three minutes apart and then he asked me when we went with Jack and it was three minutes apart. So we felt like the Lord was using the number three to confirm. We left for the hospital. In the car ride on the way there I had no pain. I know this sounds crazy, but I was literally feeling my stomach to make sure I was having contractions. This was one of our prayers-that the Lord would relieve the pain of child birth. We got to the hospital and the valet wasn't working so we had to walk from the parking lot up THREE flights of stairs to level THREE. Three again. And through all this walking- no pain. The pain started to come back and increase and I would have Jeff pray over me. A nurse checked me and I was just praying I was like an 8. haha. I was a THREE. We were discouraged-even though the number three had been significant thus far. We prayed that they would check me in (hospitals usually tell you to come back at a 4). The nurse said a midwife that I didn't know was on call. Then she came back and said"never mind your midwife is coming and we will check you in." So good. So I labored in the birthing suite. We had worship music playing. Jeff was praying over me. And yes, there was pain -at times so intense I didn't think I could do it. But there were sweet times too. I would have three or four contractions in a row that didn't hurt. BUT- and this is where it gets awesome. Jeff prayed that verse over me (the one above) He prayed that I would give birth quickly like the Israelite women. And this is where God so clearly reveals himself and you just can't deny it.

I was a three when we checked in at 8:30 p.m. I was a 5 at 9:15 p.m.. I was a 9 at 9:40 p.m. And Hudd was born at 9:50. and our specific prayer was for a fast birth. Just like those women in the verse. Hudd was born in an hour and 20 min. That just doesn't happen. Jack took 9 hours and its usually cut in half. Hudd had a purple face because it was bruised from being born so fast.

The Lord is so good. And we are so grateful and love to be in His presence.
